Prototype mock-up

DIME Industries Website Prototype

Independent unfinished prototype for DIME Industries (job-interview / proposal mock-up): a clearer brand front door when the real digital footprint is split across product discovery, retailer find, verification, lab, events, rewards, and separate commerce properties.

What I built

This page documents an independent website prototype I built after studying DIME Industries’ public digital footprint—honest interview and proposal mock-up work, not a claim that I was hired to run their marketing.

DIME is a multi-platform cannabis brand whose live ecosystem is not one neat homepage—it is a brand site plus specialist tools (retailer find, verify, lab results, events, rewards) and separate merch/commerce properties. The public footprint felt fragmented, like a WordPress stack someone built and left hanging. Visitors often have to reverse-engineer which destination does what.

I built a production-shaped Next.js mock-up with real routes, desktop-first navigation, format-organized products, and gateway pages that explain handoffs before sending someone to a specialist tool. A companion audit cockpit inventories the platforms and findings from public evidence. My recommendation in proposal conversations: keep overseas help for day-to-day WordPress tickets, and study a modern framework (like Next.js) for the real front door—not pretend the mock-up already replaced production.

It is portfolio / proposal demonstration work. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced for DIME Industries—and it is not a claim that I ran paid media for the brand. I made proposals; I don’t think they went for the full rebuild.

Problem I was trying to solve

I was not inventing a prettier marketing site for its own sake. The DIME front door felt fragmented: brand storytelling mixed with specialist tools that did not always hand off cleanly, plus public QA issues that would waste paid traffic if anyone pushed spend into that mix.

  • Merch / email overlays that interrupt shopping on the commerce side
  • Desktop navigation that still behaved like a mobile hamburger pattern
  • Store-locator defaults and buried Find / Events paths that could strand visitors
  • Dead or competing lab-results destinations (including footer 404s)
  • Product information blurred across formats instead of clean category paths
  • Broken or unfinished regional paths (Canada links, city-grid leftovers)
  • Multi-platform ownership hard to see in one place—WordPress brand site, rewards app, verify, find-us, Shopify merch

Strategy and approach

  • Treat the DIME brand site as the front door: one place to understand the lineup and choose the next action
  • Desktop-first nav with Products, Find a Retailer, Rewards, Verify, Lab Results, Events, and Merch as honest destinations
  • Organize products by format (vapes, edibles, hardware) instead of mixed CMS leftovers
  • Add gateway pages that explain a handoff before leaving for retailer find, lab, events, or merch
  • Frame regions so broken Canada / landfill-style city grids are not the path
  • Map observed public QA issues to acceptance checks the concept should pass
  • Pair the mock-up with a command-center audit of platforms, priority findings, and next work from public evidence only

What I was trying to accomplish

The strategy for a brand like DIME is stabilize the front door before ads or a full migration: make specialist tools reachable without dead ends, keep platform ownership visible, and prove the rebuild shape in a clickable prototype.

  • Show a clearer DIME customer journey from homepage → product → find / verify / lab / events / merch
  • Make IA and handoffs reviewable in a clickable mock-up, not only a slide deck
  • Separate “day-to-day WordPress fixes” (including overseas ticket capacity) from “study a modern frontend later” so priorities stay honest
  • Give a concrete artifact for interview / proposal conversations without pretending results already happened

What it does not do

It does not claim traffic, revenue, ranking, or conversion wins for DIME Industries. It does not replace the live WordPress/Shopify stack, migrate production, or act as an authorized rebuild. Screenshots and the Vercel preview show the unfinished concept I built—including on-site disclosure.

Important framing

Independent concept for portfolio demonstration. The live preview and screenshots are the prototype I built. Related private notes, access checklists, and offline research stay offline.

Current status

Unfinished interview / proposal mock-up about DIME Industries’ public footprint—not a paid engagement case study. The preview is far enough along to walk the IA and handoffs. It is still a concept—not a finished production site.
